COVID-19 Update

Just a quick update and reiteration of our office procedures during this Covid-19 Pandemic. For some it is obvious and others may be less so.  This is extremely important as we open up the economy from the recent restrictions.

Our Office

  • Generally closed to the public.
  • Ensure that you wash your hands (or use sanitizer) when you first arrive.  Be sure to use the 20 sec. rule (or sing the Happy B’day  song).
  • If you are not feeling well please do not visit the office.  Ensure that you seek medical attention at your first opportunity.
  • If you feel you have been exposed to someone having Covid-19 please have yourself tested and self-quarantine as required or for the required 14 days.
  • Be respectful of others and ensure to maintain social distancing both in the office and when onsite.
  • Use hand sanitizer or anti-bacterial wipes to clean loaned or returned equipment and limit the potential spread of Covid-19.  Cleaning with a detergent or soap and water solution removes particles that can carry risk of COVID-19 on surfaces.
  • If using disinfecting wipes (such as Clorox or Lysol wipes) remember that to properly disinfect, you should clean only one item at a time, using enough wipes to ensure the surface stays wet for 4 minutes.
  • Most staff have chosen to work remotely and work from the office occasionally, so this has reduced the possibility of social distance intrusions.
  • Other than the washrooms, and the entry doors, we don’t have a lot of common areas (e.g. tables, hard-backed chairs, doorknobs, light switches, remotes, handles, desks, toilets, sinks, tape dispensers, tools etc.).  Be sure to use your own desk items (including phone).
  • Ensure to note who you have had contact with in case of a need to follow-up.

Customer Onsites

  • No one will be asked to go onsite if they are uncomfortable with the site risk.  There should be an open discussion of the risks involved and safety measures required.
  • Gloves and masks are made available as needed.  Just ask.
  • Masks should be worn onsite to show our customers that we are take their health seriously and want to limit the potential of spreading germs.
  • Use of PPE is based on risk assessment of the specific environments and risk of exposure.
  • Ensure you limit your distance to that provided for by the provincial or federal health ministers.
  • Try and wash your hands (or use sanitizer) when you first arrive onsite, again, depending upon the length of the visit, and prior to leaving.  Keep portable hand sanitizer with you in your vehicle.
  • Ensure to note who you have had contact with in case of a need to follow-up.
